La notte

Carnival in Venice: Pulcinella attempts to slip into a VIP party, without too much success. Amidst lavish masks, food triumphs and sensual women, his dream of the rich and famous turns into a nightmare, revealing to him the priceless value of his simple but authentic life.
The film is based on Antonio Vivaldi’s concerto “La notte”, exploring its rhythms, colors, and atmospheres, transporting us to a dreamlike Venice during carnival.
Pulcinella, after unsuccessfully trying to crash a lavish VIP party amid masks, gastronomic triumphs, and attractive women, sees his dream of wealth turn into a nightmare. Eventually, he comes to appreciate the value of his simple yet authentic life.
La notte is the result of a highly successful collaboration, including the creation of the soundtrack, which serves as the foundation of the film. Vivaldi‘s eponymous concerto inspired and guided every aspect. The score was subtly adapted to the film’s duration with extreme sensitivity by Fulvio Chiara and performed by professors and students of Fondazione Fossano Musica, with Giorgio Secchi on the flute.
